Within these few weeks i have learned how to create and modify my own website. Though at times it was challenging i still was able to complete it with my partner Travis. I've learned new codes that I never knew in code academy. One obstacle i had was getting the google maps on to the page and also making the calendar public so I could publish it on my web site. I see myself maybe taking up computer science as a major in college because it interests me to know all these little codes eventually create websites that we use everyday and cant live without. I didn't find much things challenging although the whole process was more time consuming than anything else I have ever done in this class. I`m excited to learn more things to broaden my knowledge in the field of computer science.

Web Site Design & First Impressions
For their research,
Sheng and Dahal enlisted 20 Missouri S&T students to view screenshots, or
static images, of the main websites from 25 law schools in the U.S. Sheng and Dahal found that their subjects spent about 2.6 seconds
scanning a website before focusing on a particular section. They spent an
average of 180 milliseconds focusing, or "fixating," on one
particular section before moving on."The longer the participants stayed on
the page, the more favorable their impressions were," Sheng says.
"First impressions are important for keeping people on pages." In the prior questions we were asked what
makes us stay and what makes us leave a page. It relates to this article
because just like the people that were doing the experiment we think alike. The researchers
monitored students' eye movements as they scanned the web pages. The
researchers then analyzed the eye-tracking data to determine how long it took
for the students to focus on specific sections of a page such as the menu,
logo, images and social media icons before they moved on to another section. It wouldn't impact my website because i
took all of this into consideration when picking my colors. I wanted to appeal
to girls on my page so i made majority of my colors pink, yellow and neon
green. Those colors make me think/feel happy other people may feel the same.
The only element that i would change would be the font color and the where i
position them.
- maternity and childbirth: For maternity and childbirth I would use the color pink because it attracts the attention of female user. As a mother looking at that website i would be happy and jolly to read what they have to say about how to raise and grow my child.
- downhill skiing: I would use the color red to describe downhill skiing because it dangerous and it gives you a thrill. It prompts action, increases breathing and pulse. When doing any dangerous sport like that you want to pumped up and ready you don't want to be sad or calm you need to be energized.
- meditation & relaxation: The color for relaxation and mediation would be white because it represents pure, cool, calm and modern. When i see the color white I think of a wedding which is pure and happy.
- saving
the environment: The color I would use
for saving the planet would be green because it represent nature and the color of life,
renewal, nature, and energy.

Following Instructions and Computers
While doing this topic I learned a lot about how computers and humans work differently. A computer is set to follow certain instructions unlike humans who don't necessarily follow specific information. Like the activity we did with the peanut butter and jelly sandwich. It showed us that humans not follow directions and are not specific we like to assume that we know stuff. Like the worksheet we did, we didn't have to do all that was on the paper all we had to do was read and we would have known that the directions were different then what they seem. Computer are set to follow specific rules that wouldn't be changed unless the code/algorithm is.

Data Modelling and Design
Photoshop was used as a C.A.D to help clean up the file. We used it to help straighten and colorize the lighthouse picture. I honestly felt that Photoshop was a difficult program to use. I found it hard to find some icons needed to perform certain steps to fix the lighthouse. The advantage of using the Photoshop program was it saves you from repeating steps, it is fast to use. It allows you to enhance photos in one click. There are also disadvantages like it is not made for beginners who are just starting this career weather it'd be photographer or computer programmer. As the election year is coming up Photoshop could be used to make flyers that are both negative and positive. It could be used to make the runner look bad, but can also make the runner even better.

How Data Tells a Story
Data tells a story and data is presented in many different ways. Examples would be lists, pictures and word cloud. During this week I watched a 18 minute video discussing how data can have more than one meaning and can represent a story. The video also showed how technology has advanced for the better. Ms. Butera always showed us how data is generated into the hard drive and stored.

Web 1.0, 2.0, 3.0
I have learned some very interesting things throughout the weeks. I honestly never knew that there were a different between 1.0, 2.0, 3.0. I'm very interested to see what 4.0 brings to the table. Web 1.0 was the very first web which was only a one way communication based. The second one was 2.0 which was two way communication which your able to have conversations online. The very last one is 3.0 wed which is the era of social media and where able to have several conversations online with a bunch of other people.

Peer Interview Presentations
While working on the diagrams with my peers it was kind of difficult. I wish we could have just used PowerPoint and worked on our public speaking. Looking at other peoples diagrams they look very nice it looks better than ours. I enjoyed working with my peers, i got a chance to learn things I never knew about them like where they live etc. I hope we can revisit this later on in the year.
